15 years of contemporary art exhibitions and projects by 1/9unosunove will be celebrated with a threestage exhibition that includes contributions by 15 prominent artists representing both the international and Italian contemporary art scene. Some are artists with whom 1/9unosunove has collaborated for years; others are hosted by the gallery for the first time.
The exhibition – simply entitled #15 – is not a retrospective but rather an experiment open to the future, a reflection on the exhibitive event and on the force of artistic communication in the ‘dilated’ times in which we are living. It centres around a series of large-scale works, including paintings, sculptures, and photography. The artworks run from the late 1960s to brand new productions arriving from artists’ studios. The viewer is invited to visit the exhibition over the course of the next two months and to be involved at the viewer’s own discretion in various moments, enjoying both the art works as well as a dialogue with the artists in a one-to-one modality.
Starting from October 1st 2020, we will progressively present the 15 artists, who are divided into three groups and presented at 15-days intervals until the exhibition reaches its final, definite form on October 30th.
The exhibition will be on view from October 1st to November 28th, Tuesday to Saturday, from 2 pm to 7 pm, by appointment only.
On November 19th 2020 – exactly 15 years since the opening of the gallery’s very first exhibition – we will hold a public event (COVID-19 precautions permitting) where we hope to see you all for a toast to at least 15 new years of exhibiting and enjoying 1/9unosunove contemporary art together.
