Quiet Like a Lake
‘Quiet like a lake’ is a moment of reflection. These selected works are putting into question the way in which we consider our surroundings.
Through the de-contextualization and re-assignment of the significance things are given through their use, the intimate observation of a usual landscape – whether real or imagined, personal or communitarian, returns as an interpretation of reality, a remoddeling of everyday life.
Daily actions becomes a creative process, the existence itself is a source of inspiration to draw from. Reality is broken down, reassembled and repeated in a cycle of attribution of meaning and reaffirmation of an identity which again represents us through our actions.
The artists participate with works taken and revised from their own experience with a particular attention to the details of everyday life.
Within the stream of images which characterizes contemporary life, the exhibition stands as a sort of still-image: a moment of pause and reflection which serves to see reality with new eyes. The idea of the lake, as well as ‘Quiet Like a Lake’ is born out of this precise feeling of inner contemplation and reflection.
